Hypnosis for IBS
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a condition characterized by abdominal discomfort, bloating, and wind, often with loose motions and/or constipation. As a functional bowel disorder, IBS currently has no known organic cause but is more likely to start after stressful life events or an infection such as gastroenteritis.
There have been many studies showing that hypnosis is very effective in the treatment of IBS (from as early as the 1980s), and here is a link to a BBC report of the study by a leading Gastroenterology Consultant in 2010 which showed significant improvement in 90% of those treated using hypnosis. This session uses techniques known to be effective, and starts on the woodland path to the left of the lake, and then on to the bluebell wood, before arriving at the stream near the observatory.
